Mitch Dorr
Looks Forward to Second Half of TORC Season
Rockford, IL (August
29, 2011) - Mitch Dorr is finding the move up to the PRO-Light
ranks can be a steep learning curve. The majority of the class has
a legitimate shot at the podium. Before Mitch and his #17 Goodyear
Tire ATD Ford Ranger can be included in that fraternity, the
Northern Illinois native is hard at work fine tuning his race
truck to meet the demands of the different tracks on the TORC
series trail.
With starting field
that have been averaging nearly sixteen trucks every time out,
Mitch has finished in the top-10 four times out of the seven
rounds so far this season. Throughout the first half of the 2011
TORC season, Mitch has been struggling with suspension set-ups.
After spending some time discussing the issues with seven-time PRO
champion Scott Taylor, the team hopes to have "turned the corner"
when they get back to racing in Crandon, Wisconsin over the Labor
Day weekend.
"We pulled apart our
shocks, Scott and I discussed how the back end of the truck was
reacting and realized we need to make a couple of serious changes
to our shock package," commented Mitch Dorr. "All season I've made
small adjustments, but we concluded we need to take a big swing at
our set-up to really get this Goodyear Ford Ranger to handle the
way it needs to."
With that said, Dorr
Motorsports is really looking forward to the second half of the
season. The final three stops include the traditional Labor Day
Weekend event in Crandon, a midweek stop at Chicagoland Speedway
in conjunction with the NASCAR weekend, and in October at the
Cycle Ranch in San Antonio, Texas.
